LITTLE INDULGENCES | THE FESTIVE EDIT

I’m normally one of the last people to catch the festive mood – I don’t like having Christmas last a whole two months like it seems to these days, and I’m definitely not one to watch Christmas films before December! In fact, I have a little ritual with myself that I can only watch certain festive films the week before Christmas – the ones that happen to be dear to my heart such as Love Actually and Miracle on 34th Street. I don’t know what it is about that film, but it just gets me every god damn time…

FRESH AIR & OVERSIZED EVERYTHING

I recently spent the day shooting some wintery content in Manchester’s Heaton park – it’s one of my favourite places to visit because it reminds of the Lake District, a place I spent a lot of time as a kid. My Gran lived there, and it offered a nice little escape whenever we would get the chance to go and stay – as much as I love city life, there’s nothing quite like being in the beautiful countryside…

A YEAR OF SELF DISCOVERY | 2017

Two thousand and seventeen is coming to an end, so it only feels natural to curate a few things that have helped me grow throughout the year – there have been some amazing memories, some self discoveries, and as always, a few tears. I hate to get all cheesy and cliche on you, but this year really has been a huge learning curve for me – in many ways, 2017 has been the year that I needed. So much has changed for me, and I’m truly excited to see what next year has in store…

THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen much Christmas inspiration around these parts, then don’t fret! I have lots of Christmas party-wear/special event inspired outfits coming your way over the next couple of weeks – starting with a whole post dedicated to finding the perfect midi dress! As someone who lives in a good pair of jeans, dressing up can sometimes leave me feeling a bit alien. However, over the years I think I’ve managed to perfect my happy-medium when it comes to feeling a little fancier…

A GUIDE TO GOLD JEWELLERY

I get asked quite a lot about jewellery – I find that it’s a really person thing for a lot of people, and I always love asking about the unique pieces that I spot on other people. Jewellery in general just tends to be a great ice breaker – often each piece has a story behind it or a little meaning attached. At the moment, I’m really into all things gold, I just find that it works really well against my wardrobe, and happens to be the perfect way to dress up a simple jeans and jumper situation…

BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE

Retrospect has to be one of the greatest gifts that life has offer us along the way – it often hits us when we least expect it, making us (hopefully) a little wiser, and a little more in tune with those around us. I remember growing up and being distraught over something that now takes up zero head space – whether it was that first break up that somehow tricks you into believing you will never love (or get dressed) ever again, or the moment you realise that sometimes marriage doesn’t mean forever, and sometimes the adults around you don’t always have everything figured out…

BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR

Something strange has happened to me over the last couple of months – I can’t quite be certain whether it’s a new found confidence in my personal style (or just the natural human need to experiment), but I’ve been wearing my fair share of more vibrant pieces! I guess some of it has to do with the fact that outfit creating is a huge part of my job these days, not just something which has been firmly ingrained in me for as long as I can remember – it means I’m lucky enough to be able to experiment when I leave the flat each day, even if it means quickly regretting my decision and rushing back to change a few hours later…
