Alice Catherine Alice Catherine

It’s been a long while since I’ve done a whole post dedicated to jewellery so I thought now might be a good time to talk you through some of my favourite pieces! Jewellery is something I’ve been relying on more than ever to feel a bit ‘lighter’ lately, and it’s such an easy outfit booster if you’re usual ‘jeans and a T-shirt’ combination is feeling a little flat. I thought I’d talk you through the backbone of my jewellery collection and curate some of those pieces that I’m endlessly a magpie for…

CHAIN REACTION

A statement necklace is always the starting point for me when it comes to adding jewellery to an outfit. I love to play around with different necklines and see what suits best, and spring/summer is really a time when you can get creative and layer up the pieces you love most. I like to wear a chunky gold chain a lot when I’m wearing low cut blouses! I find that they really elevate a simple look, and they work really well with longer necklaces in your collection too.

CLIP ON EARRINGS

It may come as a surprise, but I actually don’t have my ears pierced anymore. They healed up a few years ago, and It’s just never been the right time to get them done again. I have super sensitive skin so I’m nervous that the same thing will happen again, and the healing process for piercings in general is just a total faff that I could do without! Fear not, clip on earrings have become a bit of an obsession for me – I love collecting various vintage ones, and they make sure a statement with an oversized blazer for an evening out. I usually keep a look out on places like Etsy and Ebay, but I’d love to see more mainstream jewellery shops stocking them in the future…

STACKS OF RINGS

Rings have always been something that I’ve gravitated towards, and I love to try and pick up a vintage one when I travel somewhere new. I also love looking out for mens vintage gold signet rings and then having them resized to fit. It just makes my jewellery collection feel much more personal, and I like to feel like there’s a story behind each piece that I’m wearing. Jewellery is such a great conversation starter and it always brings me joy when someone points to a piece that I’m wearing and asks about it in detail. There’s pretty much always a story to be told…
