Alice Catherine Alice Catherine

The end of September/start of October always seems to be a time where I rely on the bare bones of my transitional wardrobe. Never underestimate the power of a great pair of jeans, a classic white T-shirt, and a chunky cardigan. It’s a Nineties inspired look that seems to have stayed with me over the years…

I recently got sent these chunky loafers from G.H Bass and they are perfect for throwing on with a simple outfit like this. I’m still happy to wear bare feet for as long as possible, but I can also picture these looking really cool with some ankle socks too. I have my usual size six and they have been such a comfortable addition to my modest loafer collection. I used to wear them all the time back at university, but now I only own a couple of pairs (basically these and my classic Gucci ones). I’ve been noticing them pop up everywhere over the last few weeks. and I reckon the really chunky/ugly style loafer style will be everywhere for this autumn/winter.

I really love the new Gucci style platform loafers and keep talking myself out of making the purchase! Mainly because I’m not sure how comfortable they will be to walk around in. There’s just something about them that screams ‘Wednesday Addams/school girl attire’ and I’m all over that aesthetic for autumn. Especially for the month of October…
