There’s been a real shift in the weather here in Manchester, and I can’t say that I’m all too mad about it! The last week has felt suspiciously like autumn, and it’s really reminded me how much happier I am in stomping boots and layers. I’ve always said autumn style is my favourite, and it’s definitely a season I really look forward to every year. Despite being a July baby, autumn style will always just be way more interesting and exciting to me…

The temperature has still been a bit humid somedays, so it’s made for this nice in-between phase where I’ve been able to wear my floaty summer dresses with an oversized blazer thrown over the top. I invested in this Frankie Shop blazer a couple of months ago and I’ve been dying to wear it. It feels like the ultimate oversized blazer and I just know I’m going to live in it. It’s such a flattering style of oversized, and I’m so pleased that I went ahead and got one when it came back into stock. Keep an eye on the website as they often restock popular pieces – I can’t recommend this blazer enough if you’re looking for that neutral piece of outerwear to wear and love forever…

I love how it looks with this Elleme bag too – brown tones are very much pleasing me right now. Also, this post isn’t me wishing away summer just yet! I’m actually heading to Spain at the start of September with work, so I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to my summer wardrobe. I’m just heading there for a few days but I’m looking forward to discovering a different part of Spain and will of course be sharing a huge blog post on here afterwards…

I think this Whistles dress would work well in Spain so it may be the first thing I pack. I mean, how beautiful? I’m obsessed with the subtle check print and the balloon sleeves – wrap dresses will always be endlessly flattering in my opinion. Only issues is when the wind blows, I still haven’t quite figured out a safety precaution that doesn’t lead to the world seeing my knickers. Safety pins are always a decent hack but I’m always worried about destroying the material of the dress. Tips welcome if you happen to have any! Oh, and this dress is now in the sale too so definitely worth picking up if you’ve been considering it…

I also wanted to mention these Miu Miu boots as they are definitely the most expensive purchase that I’ve made in a while. I don’t tend to impulse buy things anymore – I make wish lists and stalk things for months/wait until they go into the sale usually. However, these babies popped up onto Net a Porter and I instantly added them to my basket so that I could at least try them on at home and gage whether they were worth the splurge…

I’m smitten with them and they just bring me joy whenever I wear them. I’m a chunky boots kind of girl through and through, and I definitely own a few too many pairs than I really need. Having said that, I do live in Manchester and a pair of sturdy boots will never be a bad investment! They are such a beautiful brown/crackled leather and in no way flashy or overly branded. They are an ‘uglier’ take on the classic Chelsea style boot and the chunky sole really adds a fair bit of height and makes me feel my best. Especially when I’m wearing them with tailored trousers – just the dream combo!

I have my usual size six in the boots (incase anyone is interested), and I would say they fit true to size with enough room for some serious chunky ankle socks when the winter months roll around…
