With Christmas edging closer and this years being a particularly unconventional one, an outfit for the big day is probably the last thing on most of our minds! As someone who loves clothes, it’s usually something I love to plan out well in advance – I tend to have around three looks ready that I can rotate across different events for work or with friends and family. This year it really isn’t something that I’ve felt the pressure to have figured out. Instead, I’ve focused on having a few versatile pieces at the ready that are easily dressed up with accessories…

This knitted Whistles dress is definitely one of those pieces – it’s something I can chuck on for Zoom calls with my slippers during the week, but add some knee high boots and a blazer and it’s a look that means business without being uncomfortable to wear indoors over the festive period. I feel like such a grown up in this outfit and I really think a long knitted dress with boots is just an effortlessly chic look. Add a checked blazer over the top and it somehow makes me feel like a cool 90’s mum on the school run (a very fancy mum that is). I guess it’s a look that makes me feel like I have my shit together which is the polar opposite of how I’ve felt for the entirety of this year. This is why I’m so addicted to the confidence that getting dressed has to offer! It’s such a mood booster and I think we all deserve a bit of that this year.

If navy isn’t your thing then this dress also comes in a beautiful grey style – it’s such a cosy piece and perfect for indulging in as much food as humanly possible! These knee high croc boots are also the ULTIMATE knee high boots if you’re someone who’s not really into knee high boots. They are made from the softest leather and look like boots worth double the price tag. I really can’t wait to wear these out somewhere because they make me feel like a million dollars. Again, I’m all about mood elevating pieces this year and these boots definitely make me feel in the mood for mulled wine and dancing (wherever the location might be)…

What a chic and adorable look – I love your style! I’m so happy to have discovered your blog through gorgeous Andrea of Seasons and Salt. May I ask how tall you are? I always wonder how outfits will translate on me because I’m only 5’2″. I love large prints and patters, but oftentimes they overwhelm my frame. Thanks so much, and stay safe and well!

Thanks so much, that’s really kind! And I’m around 5’5 and generally dress to look a bit taller if I can ha – I think it’s all about balancing out oversized pieces (with print) with more simple pieces. So as much as I’m wearing quite a statement blazer, the main piece of the outfit is just a simple navy blue dress! 🙂 xxx
