Alice Catherine Alice Catherine

I thought I would share something I don’t do all that often on here, and style up an outfit that I might wear for an autumnal night out. I don’t tend to have as many nights out as I used to (Grandma over here), but the love of dressing up and getting ready with friends is something that I’ll never tire of. I’m very much guilty of wearing ‘jeans and a nice top’ whenever I get asked to go out for drinks – I’m a child of the Nineties, and Manchester is pretty low maintenance when it comes to outfit expectations (praise be). I don’t tend to go anywhere that requires me to dress up real fancy, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t make an effort sometimes…

I bought this Anine Bing skirt recently – it was a bit of an impulse buy when late night browsing on Net a Porter, but I’m so so glad that I snapped it up before it sold out. It works all year round, and it basically feels like I’m wearing liquid gold whenever I put it on. It’s incredible with a crop mohair jumper and some cowboy style boots for the daytime, but reaches a whole new level when paired with vintage lace for the evening…

It fits like a glove too – honey coloured satin with an elasticated waist band, what more could a girl wish for when it comes to practical evening attire?

The top was a find on Lucia Zolea – an online vintage store that I couldn’t have more admiration for, I love their photography and the way they generally display everything on their website. It’s almost like a little 1920’s garment that a lady of that era might have slept in, and I’m pretty smitten with it. It’s just so so beautiful, and part of me wishes that it came with matching high waist shorts. It’s the type of top that I immediately want to hang up on display and only ever wear on special occasions…

Whenever I wear an outfit that that’s pretty and delicate like this one, I love to ruin it with an oversized blazer and some chunky ankle boots. Just kidding, but I know that some people would prefer this look with some strappy heels and a little cropped jacket. That’s totally fine too, but it’s that contrast of looks that makes me feel most at home in an outfit, and makes me feel my most confident. I kind of love that I could be walking outside with the blazer and boots and feel quite grungy, then as soon as I take the blazer off inside a bar, it’s a whole different look. Sometimes you just have to be ready for whatever the night ahead throws at you…

I’ve had quite a few messages about these Aeyde boots too – mainly are they comfortable? I always find that patent boots take a bit more wearing in, but they haven’t rubbed me so far, and they are so unlike any other pair of boots that I own. I’m obsessed with the colour, it just feels like a really classy take on the cowboy boot trend, and they finish off this evening look so well. I’ve also been wearing with them with light-wash vintage jeans and slouchy jumpers for a daytime look. Oh, and they come in regular black too if you’re not a fan of these ones…

As always, I layer up the gold jewellery and I’m good to go – speaking of, I’ve been working super hard in preparation of my jewellery collection launch with Mikaela Lyons, and it’s finally coming out this month! October is probably one of my favourite times of year, and I can’t wait to finally show you you guys the pieces. The blog content might be a little sporadic this month as there’s a lot going on behind the scenes, but thank you so much for sticking around and supporting me through everything…
