Alice Catherine Alice Catherine

It’s been a while since I’ve sat down and written a good old fashioned outfit post! I’m pretty much still in the ‘gravitating towards anything easy and breezy’ zone. The recent hot weather has been lovely, but I always find it so tricky to dress for as someone who lives in a city centre…

I was able to spend a long weekend back home at my mums before Manchester went into local lockdown – it was very much needed, and I spent most of my time in the garden tucking into my summer reading list. I feel like I’m slowly getting my reading mojo back and I’ve been able to switch off a bit from the online world which has been good for the soul…

I updated my blog shop recently if you’re interested in what I’m reading, it’s all linked over there for you! Along with lots of my all time favourite books and everything on my future reading list.

This Realisation Par dress is a total god send when the weather is hot! I’ve had it a while now but I’ve noticed that Realisation Par pieces tend to be the ones I rely on most throughout the summer months. I just love their prints and I find that their designs really flatter my body shape as someone with curves. You really can’t go wrong with a polka dot slip dress, and this one can easily be dressed up for the evening time too. I personally can’t recommend RP pieces enough – they are all super versatile and incredibly light to pack in your suitcase/hand luggage if you happen to be escaping for a last minute trip somewhere nice…

I love how it looks dressed down with a boyish khaki jacket and some Superga – it’s the ultimate fail-safe outfit for running errands in the unpredictable weather. These trainers were a kind gift and I’m absolutely obsessed with them already. They are part of the new Superga X Oi Polloi collaboration and were born out of inspiration taken from seventies/eighties squash shoes. I’ve worn Superga for years and they have to be my most favourite pair yet! I love the mesh material and they just have a really cool vintage vibe to them that’s understated and timeless. So far, I’ve only seen them available on the Oi Polloi website (most sizes seem to be sold out now) but keep checking back just incase. They are totally worth the wait if you manage to get your hands on a pair!

I’ve been getting back to reading as well! Ever since the start of lockdown in my country (Argentina), I just couldn’t pick up a book. I lacked the concentration. Now it’s my nightly routine and I’m so glad I’m back at it ♥

How did you manage with the sheerness/transparency of this dress? I just received it and cant believe how sheer it is, I cant wear a slip under because I cant find a slip with a low back like the dress. Might have to be a return for me ☹️

All of their dresses are pretty sheer/very high summer specific styles! They can be tricky to style for a city centre (hence the jacket), but I generally live in their stuff over summer. I have also styled this dress with a turtleneck underneath which looks really cute! Something to try out before you return maybe 🙂 xx
