White outfits aren’t for everyone, and they certainly aren’t practical when you’re as accident prone as I am. However, there’s just something effortlessly chic about them that nobody can deny – an all white outfit can look very expensive when you find pieces that fit together perfectly. That tends to be the tricky part when prioritising one colour in your wardrobe, but once you figure out what works for you, it’s usually a look that you can rely on again and again…

Granted, this isn’t strictly an all white outfit, but I find that mixing in a neutral piece is the best way to break up an all white look, and make it feel a bit more flattering. I think I’d feel like a snowball on stilts if it wasn’t for the knitted tank, and the added touch of the khaki espadrilles. If you haven’t tried out a pair of heeled espadrilles yet then what are you waiting for? They are a heel option sent from heaven for people who can’t walk in heels for longer than ten minutes without cursing at them…

I’ve worn this blazer a handful of times now, and it fits like a dream. I try to buy most of my blazers secondhand – either vintage or charity shops. I just find that most of the blazers on the high street don’t last, don’t fit me properly, and don’t give me the right kind of oversized look that I’m endlessly chasing…

This blazer was a lucky Esty find (my go-to for most vintage pieces), and the vintage knitted top underneath was a souvenir I bought back from a recent trip to Barcelona. Whenever I go to a new city, I always research the best vintage shops – I’m not sure what it is about me that just loves treasure hunting for hours on end, but for me, it’s the most fulfilling way to shop. I love mixing vintage in with high street and my favourite independent designers. I think mixing up where you like to source your clothing from creates a much more interesting and personal wardrobe…

The blazer is a match made in heaven for these linen Mango shorts that I picked up earlier in the year – nobody would be able to tell that this wasn’t a two piece bought together, and that’s the fun part about creating your own summer suit that works for you. Don’t be disheartened if you’ve been trying to two pieces that just don’t seem to fit right – start with the blazer and then take the blazer out shopping for some bottoms. Whether thats shorts, a skirt, or some badass trousers – it’s much easier if you take the singular part of the potential two piece along for the ride…

As always, some chunky gold pieces just complete any look for me – gold jewellery is having a real moment right now, so it’s easy to get your hands on some incredible pieces that don’t cost the earth. However, I always find that investing in real gold pieces that are made well is the most rewarding – I can live in the same few pieces, and the don’t look like the have been recovered from the seabed a few weeks into owning them…

And there we have it – that’s pretty much how I make a little white summer suit work for me. I pick out pieces that fit me well/are tailored to flatter my body shape, throw in some neutral/earthy toned accessories, and then layer up the gold jewellery to pull everything together…
