SPRING IN MY STEP

In case you hadn’t guessed already, I LOVE Spring. Everything about Spring – chicks, lambs (baby animals of all kind really), blossom, Easter eggs, the excuse to start wearing pretty blouses, shoes without socks, a great outfit without the need (hopefully) of a great big coat…. I think that pretty much covers all the main bases right? In short, I start to get a bit of ‘Spring fever’ around this time of year – this usually inspires me to conduct a much needed wardrobe clear out in the attempt to refresh my outfits and lighten up my go-to Winter colour palette. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might have gathered I’m not the most colourful person in general, but I do love playing around with patterns. I also really love pastel colours – I own an array of pastel coloured nail varnishes, but always shy away from transferring that admiration to my outfits…

STARMAN

I love it when you come across a piece of clothing that you just know you’ll wear endlessly – a staple item that’s classic, comfortable, and statement in its own right. This is exactly how I feel about this little star print number…

IF THE BRAND FITS | SEZANE

You know that moment when you discover a new brand and after scrolling through a couple of web pages you think ‘this is me, this is my brand’ – the feeling that someone somewhere completely gets what you want from clothes, and that you might possibly never need to shop anywhere else…

PERSONAL STYLE | PART 2

Recently, I’ve felt more and more inspired to write about what’s in my head, rather than the clothes I’m photographed in. I think this comes from two places in particular – one feeling guilty sometimes that I’m lucky enough to have a platform, one that I often feel I don’t share enough of myself or my experiences, and the other being that the last 12 months have inflicted a tirade of negative world events that often have me dwelling on more than just my nice shoes…

DENIM SKIRT REVIVAL

This year denim has been more popular than ever – jeans in particular have made a huge come back with various different trends thrown in for good measure. The high street has been graced with everything from patch work to frayed hems, and crop flares a plenty. This frenzy has had me living in jeans more than ever – casting an old member of the denim collective aside…

FOUR DAYS IN PARIS | A PHOTO DIARY

Hello you wonderful lot – I’m officially back in Manchester, but my heart is definitely in Paris! I recently visited for four days and they were the most magical four days I’ve had in a long while. We spent our time getting lost down picturesque little back streets, exploring book shops, and eating an unhealthy amount of macaroons. I thought I’d share a little more insight into our trip for those of you that have been asking. I’ll be talking you through my ‘must see’ spots, and some top tips I picked up for anyone who plans on visiting in the near future…

THE COLOUR RED

I’ve always found it strange how certain colours have feelings or moods attached to them – these can often be triggered in so many different ways, for so many different people. Whether it be the little blue dress that makes you feel confident, the silver shoes that transport you to a happy place, or that little red vintage jumper that instantly brightens your mood, and your outfit too…

THE VINTAGE JUMPER

My love affair with vintage only seems to get stronger as the years go by – I have quite the collection of vintage pieces, everything from bags to battered Levi jeans that I can’t seem to part with. There’s something different about an entirely vintage outfit, the way it makes you feel as though there’s a story behind it, a little bit of history that gives it that added charm…

BEST OF BASICS | THE WINTER EDIT

The basics we own really become the backbone of our personal style, and are often the pieces we turn to in times of need. They are the essential key pieces, the time savers, and the comfort blankets ready and waiting in our wardrobes. Of course, these basic items will differ from person to person, but I thought I’d give you a rundown of my absolute must haves, and how to make the best out of them…

FEEL GOOD STYLING | TOP TIPS

I think it’s safe to say that sometimes we tend to find ourselves feeling negative about the way we look, the clothes we own, and the way they can sometimes make us feel. We often aren’t mindful of the impulse purchases we make and this can leave us feeling ‘stuck in a rut’. I thought it might be fun to talk you through some of my top tips for feeling good about my body image – everything from educating myself to increase a positive mind set, to buying fancy underwear, well, just because…
