UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN | VILLA LENA

The second (and final) stop of the week was the wonderfully unique Villa Lena. An incredible place that has well and truly left its mark on me, I can’t wait to go back with whoever’s willing to come along. Whether you’re a group of friends, with family, or a couple looking for a chilled time in Tuscany – Villa Lena has you coveredThe longer I spent there, the more I realised how therapeutic being in the rural countryside really is. It’s safe to say that I was very sad to leave, but I’ve definitely left with a new enthusiasm for the simple life…

UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN | BORGO PIGNANO

I was lucky enough to spend all of last week in Tuscany, some much needed catch up time with my mum, and a chance to tick another Italian destination off my bucket list. I got to partner with I-escape, which for transparency, means that we received a discount for both of the amazing hotels that we stayed at. It’s definitely the best perk of the job, I love travelling and meeting new people, and it’s something I want to continue doing for as long as I’m able to. Tuscany has been somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for years, so getting to have a last summer fling there was a dream come true…

TWO DAYS IN ZURICH | A PHOTO DIARY

A couple of weeks ago, I got to fly to Zurich with fly Swiss – it was such an amazing couple of days, and I definitely don’t feel like I got to see enough of the city. There’s so much to explore, so a few days meant that we only just scratched the surface of what beautiful Zurich has to offer. I didn’t realise just how much there was to see in terms of art and culture. There’s so many different museums, and an array of wonderful architecture – the city really feels like it has this split personality too. We stayed in the old town which was full of quirky little stores and buzzing side streets, but beyond the old town, there was this really industrial side to the city that felt very spaced out and modern…

ISCHIA | ISLAND LIFE

We just got back from a week well spent in beautiful Ischia – it was a break spent beach hopping, reading, and eating all the pasta and pizza in sight. I hadn’t had a proper holiday in a long while (not one where I fully switch off anyway) so it was nice to be somewhere that encouraged me to chill out. We chose Ischia because it seemed a little less raved about, and I liked the idea of discovering somewhere that felt like the underdog, or that just wasn’t as popular on my Instagram feed. We had also read that parts of The Talented Mr Ripley were filmed there, which has to be one of my favourite films in terms of how aesthetically pleasing it is. If you haven’t watched it before, give it a watch, and I can guarantee you’ll be subconsciously planning your next trip to Italy…

TWO DAYS IN TOULOUSE | LA VILLE ROSE

I recently got to spend two beautiful days in the south of France with Klorane. We headed to Toulouse – known as La Ville Rose (‘The Pink City’) because of it’s peachy/pink architecture. We spent our time discovering the history of Klorane, eating the best food, and exploring the local vineyards. It was such a lovely trip because it was a particularly small group – I much prefer these types of work trips because you feel as though you get to know everyone a bit better, and it feels much more intimate…

BARCELONA ON FILM | PRIMAVERA SOUND

I’m writing this blog post on a Wednesday afternoon – we just landed back in Manchester, and I went straight for an iced coffee and to get my rolls of film developed. I like to start writing and editing as soon as I get back from a trip, otherwise I feel as though the holiday thoughts leave my head, and it starts to feel like more of a chore to put everything together. I always want to capture a bit of the holiday magic whilst it’s still occupying my brain, and this was certainly a trip to remember…

PACKING LIST: A SUMMER CITY BREAK

I get quite a lot of questions about what I pack when I go away, and I don’t think it’s ever something I’ve sat down to discuss on here. I’m not the most organised packer in the world, but I do try and always start the day before, and I try to make a little list to guide me in the right direction. I find packing for a beach holiday a total breeze – just lots of swimwear, cami tops, and high waist shorts. A few little wrap dresses thrown in there and you really can’t go too wrong. However, packing for a city break is a whole new ball game, and one that I have to offer a little more thought…

BORDEAUX TO BIARRTZ | FRANCE ON FILM

This week, I was lucky enough to discover the south of France for a couple of days with Jimmy FairlyBordeaux and Biarritz to be exact – I’ve mentioned that I spent quite a lot of time holidaying in France as a kid, so it always feels like a second home to me whenever I get the chance to go back. I’d actually never been to either places, so I was intrigued to discover what they had to offer, and whether they would become places I’d be permanently pining to travel back to…

TIME OF MY OWN

I’ve had travelling on the mind lately – moving flats occupied the start of the year, and now we are all settled in, I’m itching to explore some exciting new places. When I was putting together my recent Travelling songs playlist, it got me thinking about how the journey is often such a significant part of travelling for me. Something about being in the car for a long period of time, or taking a train journey some place new –  uninterrupted time to utilise in any way that I choose…

TRAVELLING SONGS | A PLAYLIST

I’m heading to beautiful France next week – Bordeaux to be precise. I used to go camping in France every year when I was younger, so it’s always somewhere that feels very nostalgic to me. I’m heading there with work which feels extra exciting – I have to pinch myself whenever I get invited somewhere new. It’s very much a perk of the job, and I’m so incredibly grateful to those of you who invest time in the content I create each week. I’ve kind of had travelling on the mind lately – the warmer weather seems to do that to me. I thought I’d make another playlist as you guys seem to love a curated list of songs as much as I love putting them together…
