TWO DAYS IN ZURICH | A PHOTO DIARY

A couple of weeks ago, I got to fly to Zurich with fly Swiss – it was such an amazing couple of days, and I definitely don’t feel like I got to see enough of the city. There’s so much to explore, so a few days meant that we only just scratched the surface of what beautiful Zurich has to offer. I didn’t realise just how much there was to see in terms of art and culture. There’s so many different museums, and an array of wonderful architecture – the city really feels like it has this split personality too. We stayed in the old town which was full of quirky little stores and buzzing side streets, but beyond the old town, there was this really industrial side to the city that felt very spaced out and modern…

READING, WATCHING, & LOVING

It’s been a while since I’ve done a little roundup of favourites, or rather, just a collection of random things that have been making me happy recently. There’s been lots of exciting stuff happening behind the scenes, so it’s been a bit more difficult to sit down and keep on top of writing regular blog posts. Amongst travelling, planning for upcoming trips, and preparing everything for the launch my collaboration with Mikaela Lyons, lets just say it’s been busy….

AUGUST PLAYLIST

It’s that time of month where I post the music I’ve been listening to over the last few weeks, along with a few self portraits from this month (that admittedly, have nothing to do with said playlist). It’s been a funny old month of ups and downs (and everything in between), so those moments when I’ve been able to switch off and listen to music have been a blessing. I’ve also been getting back into reading on a more regular basis again (the key is to just pick up another book right after you’ve finished your current one), so let me know if you’d like a reading list style post sometime soon…

BEING IN TUNE

This is probably going to be one of those posts where I ramble on without much direction, but it’s something I’ve been dwelling on recently. The art of being in tune with your mind and body – listening to what your body needs, and actually taking the time to provide it for yourself. It’s hard in an era where we all get swept up in being busy and unavailable, but looking after number one is more important than any of us ever realise…

ISCHIA | ISLAND LIFE

We just got back from a week well spent in beautiful Ischia – it was a break spent beach hopping, reading, and eating all the pasta and pizza in sight. I hadn’t had a proper holiday in a long while (not one where I fully switch off anyway) so it was nice to be somewhere that encouraged me to chill out. We chose Ischia because it seemed a little less raved about, and I liked the idea of discovering somewhere that felt like the underdog, or that just wasn’t as popular on my Instagram feed. We had also read that parts of The Talented Mr Ripley were filmed there, which has to be one of my favourite films in terms of how aesthetically pleasing it is. If you haven’t watched it before, give it a watch, and I can guarantee you’ll be subconsciously planning your next trip to Italy…

CREATING FOR THE INTERNET | INSTAGRAM

This is a topic I’ve wanted to discuss for some time now – I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately for numerous reasons, and I just wanted to explore my thoughts on it a little more. That’s basically what blogging is to me, some sort of writing therapy that always leaves me feeling lighter than before. The internet, to me, has always been a place to share and consume with likeminded people, if someone told me five years ago that I’d be doing the job I do now, I would have probably laughed in their face…

SAFETY BLANKET

A lot of us rely on little safety blankets in life – even if we don’t always realise it. Some of us are more in tune with what makes us feel more confident, whereas others don’t notice until it’s taken away. For me, I tend to become reliant on the familiar – I’m naturally drawn to what feels comfortable, and not necessarily someone who chasers danger. On the flip side of that, I can be incredibly impulsive when it comes to making decisions that are either stressing me out – or that just feel exciting. Sometimes it’s my downfall, and other times I sit and wonder why I hadn’t made the change sooner…

JULY | SOME THINGS TO SMILE ABOUT

I shot these images on a very hot Sunday afternoon, right before I cut my hair off into a little bob a few days later. You can see how light the sun makes my hair go in these images – it’s the bane of my life. I’m forever looking for products that stop it going brassy in the sunshine, so feel free to send recommendations my way! You might have caught my new hair cut over on Instagram – I’d been edging shorter and shorter with every salon visit, and I’m so glad we decided to just go for a full on bob

A DAY IN MANCHESTER | THE BEST SPOTS

I’ve had quite an influx of messages over on Instagram lately, all asking where I’d recommend to head to when visiting Manchester for a couple of days. I realised that I haven’t given you that much insight into the wonderful city I call home – so it was well and truly time for an updated roundup of the places I like to spend most of my time. I just got this film developed from a recent day strolling around Manchester so I thought I’d put them to good use. I was heading for brunch with a friend and she kindly helped me take some snaps along the way. I love how they turned out, and I’m actually preferring much more imperfect blog imagery at the moment…

A CATCH UP | LIFE & NEW PROJECTS

I thought it was the perfect opportunity to sit down and have a little life catch up with you all today – the last month has been pretty crazy to say the least, there’s been lots of good times, and a few not so good times. I’m sitting down to type all of this out with a much calmer outlook on life than I’ve had in a long while, and it feels really good to have a head full of creative ideas again. The rubbish times always pass eventually, we just have to ride them out, and know that better things are just around the corner. I’m learning to let go of things that aren’t meant for me, and fill that vacant space with positivity…
