Alice Catherine Alice Catherine

I thought I’d start the week off with an outfit I’ve been wearing to  death recently (seriously, somebody peel it off my body) – a bodysuit and blazer combination that I don’t think I’ll ever tire of. The recent warmer days have given my wardrobe a new lease of life, and I’ve really found myself looking towards spring/summer outfits with pure excitement…

I did a big clearcut of autumn/winter pieces recently and rediscovered these amazing suede Vagabond shoes. Nothing screams Spring more to me than tan accessories. It’s such a classic colour – especially when paired with vintage blue denim and a crisp white shirt. It’s that effortless Jane Birkin look that never ceases to impress me…

Sezane kindly gifted me this jumpsuit from their new collection when I visited their Paris store last month. It’s such a beautiful knitted design with a low back and mini ruffles for a feminine touch. It’s the perfect piece for this time of year because it’s relatively warm/sensible, but still feels more exciting than a jumper for those times when I want to feel a little more sexy. I’m actually really enjoying bodysuits again lately after a couple of years hiatus – maybe it’s because I’ve been working out and mentally I feel a bit more body confident. I still have a little while to go, but I’m so glad that I’m sticking with regular PT sessions and making healthier lifestyle choices in general…

Speaking of things I’ve been enjoying lately – I can already tell that my neckerchief draw revival has begun. If you’ve followed me for a while then you’ll have seen me wear them in numerous different ways by now. Round my neck, in ponytails, tied to basket bags, and even wrapped around my head as a makeshift sun hat. I love them so much that I even used them as part of the packaging for my first collection with Mikaela Lyons. I’m a big advocate of silk scarfs because they are both multipurpose and timeless. I picked this Rouje one up last year and completely forgot about it – I love how it adds a bit of something something to this simple outfit. All of the accessories here really do the talking.

I also bought a vintage YSL scarf from Vestiaire Collective and it just arrived. I can’t wait to shoot it with a white t-shirt, some tailored trousers and a camel trench coat. I’m currently on the hunt for the perfect trench coat so I’ll let you know how that goes. I’m obsessed with this Rejina Pyo  one, and also this A.P.C one  – both such beautiful designs by brands that I’m very much smitten with, but obviously with hefty price tags. However, the high street tend to do trench coats really well, so I’m not sure if it’s something worth investing in. I’ve had lots of different ones over the years, and I really drift in and out of love with them. I’ve also been looking at vintage Burberry ones over on Vestiaire too (can you tell I have a problem with this website yet)…

I’m feeling that scarfs, trench coats and square toe shoes will be my staples for Spring – paired with lots of denim, vintage blouses and gingham. Lots of the same classic pieces that I look forward to restyling as soon as winter is over…

I’m very excited about the arrival of this new Chloe bag too – it was a very generous gift from the Manchester Selfridges store and I feel very fancy indeed whenever I wear it. It’s ideal for everyday because it has a cross body strap inside, but I definitely picked it with special occasions in mind. I have a few weddings coming up and I think it will look perfect with a patterned midi dress and some little heels. I love how a new bag can make everything else in my wardrobe feel brand new again…
