Alice Catherine Alice Catherine

I recently discovered KITRI – a brand that has been increasingly present on my radar thanks to the joys of Instagram. I still get really excited whenever I discover a new brand that gives me the feeling. The feeling of which I can only describe as ‘omg, so I guess I need everything’. Of course, I never buy everything – no one person needs that amount of clothes, but it’s nice for a girl to have options. All too often, I feel as though the high street becomes a bit stagnant and I fall out of love with my once favourite shopping destinations, so it’s nice that there are still so many new brands cropping up with a new way of doing things…

DRESS ONE | POLKA DOT DRESS FROM DUSK TILL DAWN

This polka dot wrap dress has to my most worn dress recently – it’s definitely one to rival my Realisation Par midi number, but they are both quite different in their own right. This has shorter sleeves for instance, so it makes the perfect day dress for strolling around with some Superga on foot…

I love how it looks with these mid top/off white ones from the Alexa Chung range. This is my first time trying any sort of trainer that creeps up the ankle as I thought the only possible outcome on me would be cankles. Cankles or not, I’m pretty smitten with them, and they feel like the perfect shoe that nineties film character might have worn to climb trees, or ride a bike around around to her crushes house – striped crop top and hair clips in tow…

Trainers with a dress is nothing new, and will forever make me think of Lily Allen, but it really does work for everyone. I strongly believe it’s a look that anyone can pull off, and it’s such an easy summer look for those times when it’s so hot that you can barely remember the pieces of clothing you own. I’m slowly getting braver with my trainer choices, but I can’t see myself sporting anything other than a plimsoll style shoe any time soon. I find them to be the most flattering, if like me, you’re not blessed with super long/lean legs. Having said that, also just wear whatever the hell you want regardless of how you’re shaped – summer is all about experimenting and having fun…

DRESS TWO | THE SOPHISTICATED WHITE DRESS

Dress number two is unlike any other little white dress that I have in my wardrobe – emphasis on sophisticated simply because it doesn’t feature cami straps or broderie anglaise. This is the kind of dress I could picture someone wearing to the office, for meetings, or for an event somewhere in the city. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but at the same time gives off a I can handle anything in this dress kinda vibe…

It’s sweet and airy for those hot summer days, but the bow tie waist feature gives it that little bit of edge. I love how it looks with espadrilles to add some extra personality. These ones by Castanar have been my fail-safe recently, I couldn’t recommend them enough if you’re not a heels person. I’ve already ordered them in another colour because I wait all winter long just to enjoy wearing them again, and they pretty much match with every summer dress hanging in my wardrobe…
