MEMORY LANE

Last weekend I got to travel up to the Lake District for what felt like the first time in ages! We headed up there to celebrate a friend’s wedding and it was a much needed change of scenery. Sometimes it’s nice to find yourself with little or no internet connection and just switch off from city life…

BRIGHT EYES | BLUE DENIM

I’ve spoken about my love for denim a lot so far on this blog – it’s something I’m naturally drawn to and base the majority of my outfits around. Good denim that fits you well and is the right shade seems to be a nightmare to come by. Therefore, my advice would be not to hesitate if you find a great piece of vintage denim, it will open up your wardrobe to new options and last you for years to come…

LITTLE RED PLAYSUIT

Heyy guys – hope you’re all having a wonderful week in the sun so far! First up, just wanted to address my sudden change of hair colour. Basically, I’m off to a wedding on the weekend and couldn’t get a hair appointment to tone down my previously quite coppery affair, so I decided to dye it myself. I had one of those hair colours that looks great indoors but for taking blog pictures or when caught in direct daylight, it was just bright orange. Anyway, not the look I was going for, and I must say neither was much darker but it should fade to a nice medium brown with a couple of washes…

PANCAKES

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend so far – thought I’d quickly share yesterday’s outfit in a little more detail. The killer combination of wind and rain meant I found myself digging out a pair of tights for the first time in a long while. I still wanted to keep the look summery so I threw on some frayed denim shorts and a dark floral summer blouse for that British summer feel…

SUEDE IN SUMMER

If you live in England then you’ll know that the hotter days during summer are quite sporadic, meaning you have to master a happy medium when it comes to getting dressed in the morning. This could be anything from throwing a chunky knit over your favourite dress, or adding some ankle socks to your chosen footwear. Basically, anything that says you’re prepared for the weather to change at the drop of a hat.

CURRENT SKINCARE ROUTINE

Hey all – hope you’re well and having a nice lazy Sunday. Thought I’d do something a bit different and share some of my favourite skincare products with you in a little more depth. It’s worth mentioning that I am in no way a skincare expert and what works for me won’t necessarily work for someone else. These are just products that I’ve tried, tested and often repurchased because they have benefited my skin in some way.

THE CLASSIC SILK SLIP

Hope everyone is having a lovely week so far – thought I’d share this little black cami dress with you to lighten the mid-week blow. I can only apologise in advance with regards to the grimey location – lets just call it grungey shall we? I promise to mix things up soon location wise, I’m planning to venture around Manchester a little more to seek out some new, slightly more picturesque spots. Although, I can’t promise my stances or facial expressions will get any less awkward but  here’s to hoping!

UNIFORM

If you’ve not noticed already, denim dresses and blouses are a combination I’m particularly fond of. I’m a big fan of denim in general and it’s something I always gravitate towards when shopping. Having some great key denim pieces can open up your entire wardrobe and really make getting dressed for the weekend a complete breeze. As you might have gathered by now, my favourite denim is usually vintage denim.

DRESSED UP DUNGAREES

I’m the first to admit I have a bit of a phobia when it comes to dressing up, I just don’t feel myself stuffed into a tight dress with a big pair of heels that I can’t walk five minutes in. For the most part, I tend to wear the same items of clothing I’d wear during the daytime but with a few components mixed up. Lets take dungarees for example – I often wear them with a simple striped top underneath and either Converse or some pointed boots, but add a feminine blouse, and it steers the look in another direction completely. They are the most versatile and reliable piece I own and something I always search for in vintage shops…
